Treatment facility for non-ferrous materials from mainly WEEE
SC Remat-MG recently opened a new facility to treat the non-ferrous shredder residue fraction. This post-shredder technology treatment encompasses a dry processing of the non-ferrous material of the shredder line. The production unit was put into operation early 2015 at the Frumuseni plant of SC Remat M.G., only 2 years after the grand opening of the site. It shows the determination of the Müller-Guttenbrunn Management to equip this plant with the best possible equipment to deal with electronic waste (WEEE).
The line is equipped to sort out the last ferrous materials, to concentrate the non-ferrous metals and to separate the plastics fraction.
The new sorting line has an installed capacity of 5 MT/hour and consists of a number of conveyor belts in a recycling hall, to covey the material to several separation units for ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The line combines magnetic and induction separators and is completed with a a Zig-Zag sorting plant, a fully adjustable cascade cleaning solution, suitable for most types of free flowing material streams to remove low density waste material.
The new line not only processes material from the own shredder line in Frumuseni – it is also intended to treat mixed materials from other suppliers. The line can take materials with a size of up to 150 mm, which is approximately the size of a hand.
The technology separates the materials into 2 size fractions of which each fraction is separated into ferrous and non-ferrous metals and plastics, thus resulting in 7 output fractions. These fractions can be further processed by smelters or specialized downstream processors, some of which in the own company group.
“The new line is extremely energy efficient due to the most recent control technologies and it is designed for low maintenance costs. Hence the new treatment facility largely adds to the technological capacities for the treatment of electronic wastes and of the Frumuseni plant” said General Manager Marius Mairovits.
